Your child's first free football session in West Sussex

2 min read

A first visit should feel straightforward. This guide explains the current CPS West Sussex sessions and the steps to try one, so you and your child can arrive knowing the essentials.

Choose your local session

Both weekly sessions welcome outfield players aged 6–12, including beginners. Wednesday training runs from 5–6pm at Withdean Sports Complex, Tongdean Lane, Brighton BN1 5JD. Friday training runs from 6–7pm at The Triangle, Triangle Way, Burgess Hill RH15 8WA.

Choose the venue and evening that suit your family. These are technical development sessions; the current timetable does not advertise a separate goalkeeper group.

Book the free trial

Use the trial form to choose your session and date. Make sure a Withdean booking uses a Wednesday date and a Triangle booking uses a Friday date. Enter your child's details and your own contact information carefully so the team can send the session information.

Get ready for the session

Bring a drink and comfortable sports clothing. Check the footwear requirements for your chosen venue with the team before travelling. Include relevant medical information on the form and speak to the coach about anything that may help your child settle in.

Use the trial to get a feel for the coaching

The training focuses on ball skills, confidence and decisions in the game. The free session gives your child a chance to meet the coaches and experience the practices. Afterwards, ask what they enjoyed and whether they would like to return.

If your child wants to continue

Registration packages and monthly training payments are separate. Check the West Sussex Sign Up page for package contents, then choose the correct venue on the Training Schedule page. If you are joining partway through a month, contact the team before paying.
